We’re proud to announce that we’ll be launching a collaboration with Lunette to bring you an exclusive menstrual cup, as part of our work to end period stigma. We’re aware that this stigma goes far beyond us and our customers, which is why we and Lunette are donating 5000 menstrual cups to The Cup Foundation to support their life-changing work.
Here’s what our Managing Director, Lea Rytz Goldman, has to say about it:
“Female empowerment is at the core of everything we do at Monki. I’m very proud to launch our collaboration with Lunette and The Cup Foundation and to provide young women in Kenya with access to menstrual care and education.”
Who are The Cup Foundation?
They are a non-profit organisation with a mission to educate and empower girls living in challenging environments in Kenya, by giving them life skills, training, and access to menstrual cups.
Here’s what their CEO and Founder, Camilla Wirseen, has to say about the co-lab:
"It is the right of all women to be able to handle their periods in a safe and hygienic way. Together with Monki and Lunette, The Cup Foundation will be able to make a real difference and help even more girls living in poverty to stay in school.”
Who are Lunette?
Lunette is a Finnish, female-run company that has developed the menstrual cup which is a user-friendly, safe, reusable and eco-logical alternative to pads and tampons. The co-lab edition of the Lunette cup will be available in a limited edition pink colour, along with an exclusive pouch to store the cup in.
Here’s what their CEO and Founder, Heli Kurjanen, has to say:
“Partnering with a company like Monki is something we have dreamed of for years. Monki shares our mission to have honest and inspiring conversations about menstruation so that we can motivate period positivity and change the world one cup at a time.”
The cup will be available in selected Monki stores and online from mid-July. Watch this space.
